Background.

In 2019, planning and listed building consent was secured for the development of two Grade II listed former townhouses and mews buildings, forming part of 6-14 Grosvenor Place. The buildings were extensively altered, extended and partially rebuilt in the late 20th century for office use, with almost all historic features lost or compromised by modifications.

The consented scheme included:

  • Restoring the building’s use as a private members’ club and the addition of a public café

  • Refurbishment of the Grade II listed building with partial demolition and rebuild of rear mews

  • Extension at second floor facing the mews

  • Roof terraces at 3rd and 5th floor levels facing the mews

  • External alterations, including windows and provision of plant enclosures

  • Extensive internal refurbishment

  • Extensive heritage and public benefits.

Since 2019, the way we live, work and socialise has changed, so we are seeking to revise the plans to cater for the contemporary needs of our guests. During construction work, we have also unveiled some historic elements that we would like to incorporate into the design and would allow better use of operational space.

Find out about the changes we are proposing to make here.
